Doxa

Description

In Doxa (meaning “Glory” in ancient Greek), you take control of an ancient city-state and shape its destiny by influencing its fundamental pillars: agriculture, engineering, population, military, and economy. Strategy and cunning are the keys to victory in Doxa! The goal of the game is to defeat your opponent through economic, scientific, civil, or military victory. Each player has a board representing their city with various parameters: population, wealth, engineering, food, science, and military. Each turn, you will improve your city by acquiring cards representing various buildings that will affect the parameters of your city or those of your opponent. Each card has a mandatory “maintenance cost” and effects when played, so it's up to you to balance your deck management so that your city doesn't descend into chaos or your opponent's army invades it. Observing your opponent's city and strategy is one of the keys to victory.
