Description

Designed by a long-distance hiker for both hikers and gamers. In the role of backpackers, players follow white blazes from their chosen Trailhead as they visit Appalachian Trail locations, use Gear, encounter Wildlife, and live through Experiences and Weather on their path to reaching the opposite Trailhead. Blazing Thru the Appalachian Trail is played by going through a Trail deck one State at a time, each player taking two turns per State. In a turn, they plan their hike (draw a card from the Planner) and then hike (play a card from their hand, score it, and take its action). Gear cards may be used at any time during a player's turn; Gear helps draw or play extra cards or avoid difficulties during a hike. The object of the game is to be the hiker with the most valuable experience (determined by points) at the end of the game, awarded during the game by Trail & Wildlife cards and State Bonuses. After the final State, add points from Premium Gear to determine the winner! —description from the publisher
