Make like a mycelium and grow in unique geometric patterns, connect with both resources and fellow mycelial networks, and react to unexpected challenges and constantly changing conditions with one goal in mind: sporing to survive. Shroomscape is a strategic board game for 4 players where each player takes on the role of a different species of mushroom, represented by a growing mycelial network. The goal is to grow your network across a forest board, collect resources, sprout fruiting bodies, and release spores — all while responding to unpredictable events that can shift the balance of the game. Each mushroom species has its own strengths and limitations. Players grow by placing pieces in specific geometric patterns, aiming to reach resource pieces and trigger actions. The game includes both competitive and cooperative elements — sometimes it’s in your interest to help another player, and sometimes it’s better to block them. Gameplay involves piece placement, pattern building, and managing limited actions each turn. Random events introduced through spore releases create unpredictable shifts, forcing players to adapt and rethink their strategies.
